Just a few artsy things I managed time for (another is still sitting on the counter). I am "trying"(as best I can considering how much I have) to make a dent in all my ephemera...
Added a new layout in one of my Glue Books - the one with a children's theme. This little picture....
...is under the card to the left which makes the spread interactive. The girls are from an old Montgomery Ward Spring catalog...so are the fabric choices.
I have been wanting to use this ad for movers for some time - and then I found the stamp! Makes a neat ATC...
Just having some fun in this last piece. An ATC using up an old knitting pattern - that hand on the shoulder and the look on her face makes me laugh (can you say "awkward" LOL). Enjoy. Jewels.

Artistic Intuition UPDATED TO The one that never made it....
Intuition - defined as the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning.
Where does artistic intuition come from - you know - the ability to just make it look "right"? ....Where was my artistic intuition when I was in high school (as attested by this masterpiece OMG). Not sure if it was something to do with it being the 1970's or me just not having any sense of dimension (truly, it is a rather sad tea pot don't you think?).
Another postage stamp person - I actually get a real kick out of the look on her face - you can just see her mind whirring away about the dude she is dancing with LOL. They are actually doing the Conga (so you can guess what Gloria Estefan song I was humming when I created this).
The background is a cover from old piano music and some vintage gift wrap. They come from an thrifted book on teaching yourself to dance!
UPDATE: Sadly my original couple did not make it to Andria (I've been having some bad luck with that sort of thing lately for some reason) hence the One that never Made It - but I was BOUND AND DETERMINED to get one to her! Fortunately I had most of the same papers in my stash with the exception of the original stamp so I was able to recreate. AND this time it made it LOL and PHEW! Enjoy. Jewels

Background
I have to say though the past few years I have improved. I looked through my blog the other night and could see the progression.
Little bit of Sewing
I have to give a lot ( I mean A LOT) of credit to my online peeps (Jo, Lenna, Leslie, Beth, Carol to name a few) who have inspired me along the way. Every time I see things they've done or receive a piece of their art through the mail I think "I've got to try that!"...
Paint and Stamping
My most recent piece is for someone I have not swapped with before. Andria has a cool site which has also been a source of inspiration for me (like the little booklet I made).Another postage stamp person - I actually get a real kick out of the look on her face - you can just see her mind whirring away about the dude she is dancing with LOL. Mail Art Lovelies Received....
Wanted to catch up and acknowledge all the Mail Art I have received recently.
It is quite the little stash!
First is this wonderful stamp person from Andria. I got to choose the one I wanted and rather fancied the sunbathing nun...Sad to say my mail to her did not arrive - so I took a chance and sent another - keeping my fingers crossed it arrives safe and sound.....
I challenged my regular mail art swappers Leslie and Beth to use only Junk Mail for their creations - amazingly easy to collect and you can find some really fun things to combine. Mr. Darcy very much approved Leslie's "doggie in the window" LOL...
And Beth's "complimentary Tuesday" was inspired by one of those pieces I know I regularly get for retirement - funny!
Finally I have Lenna's lovely Renaissance Mash Up - just love the vintage look and feel - and the quote is very appropriate. Another sad tale - Jo's has failed to make it over the pond to me (though her art for Lenna did make it several weeks ago). You win some, you lose some - but I do feel for the person who put a lot of time and effort to create a one of a kind piece only to have it not land where it is supposed to (or even returned to sender)!
That said, I am getting ready to send my latest Mail Art out and created this quick ATC with some of the scrapes - one of those moments when you look at what is on your table and "see" something come together! Enjoy. Jewels.

ATCs and Collection?
I realized I had not done any ATCs for quite some time and got inspired to create some this past week (mainly because I have SO MUCH stuff I really need to either use it or chuck it)....
The background for this card was a scrap from some water colour painting that I ironed on a Vogart Textilprints to (you can see other examples of this here and here). They are not easy to find. She is from one of my old BHG mags...
As are Mrs. Robert G. Walker (who looks way too happy compared to the other two), Mrs. Peter Wuebel and Mrs. T. L. Green Jr. - the 1950 winners of a Pillsbury contest (wonder what their first names are - any guesses?). The background for this was another painting scrap that I added a GELLI PLATE DELI PAPER print (in capitals because I have really been procrastinating on using my plate and I really want you to be impressed)....Some washi tape as well....
Finally - does this constitute a (or should I say another) collection - never realized how crazy that cow looked until now LOL....Enjoy, Jewels
