Flood the Streets with Art II

I decided to join the Flood the Streets movement this year hosted by Scott Wong. The whole idea is to "pass" (here in the States anyway) on all the Black Friday hype and instead do an act of kindness by giving away a free piece of art. Over 5,000 artist around the globe are participating - just amazing! I must say I have been pretty impressed by what people have shared so far.
4x6 card, paint, stamp, tissue paper...
So next Friday while I am "somewhere in Canada" I will drop this of in a public area (library, tourist center, who knows....just not a place of business). Some body may pick up, but then again maybe not. And if they do they might let me know, but then again maybe not. That's not really the intent - it's more in the sharing. It is similar to another piece I did last year - to be honest I was playing it safe...
I love this proverb and didn't make the connection to what I was actually participating in till after it was done. Just hope it goes to a good home! Enjoy. Jewels

  1. What a great idea. I'd rather be making art or finding art on Black Friday!

  2. It's lovely to see what you've done for your 'Flooding the Streets' - super background, another wonderful image (you are the mistress of wonderful images) and the proverb very suitable. I so hope you get to hear from the person who finds this little gem.

The US Black Friday is, I guess, what the UK Boxing Day is becoming, sadly. It's all greed, greed, greed, and I hate it.

I'll be finishing my 'FtS' stuff over the next couple of days......

  3. I love what you did, Jewels... and I recognize that leafy brown tissue paper!! Really nice work. We never do anything on the friday after thanksgiving, I am going to see if I might do this! Maybe spread them around at our community Thanksgiving at Lucas Boatworks :))

  4. I don't know if my first comment went through, as the page cut away as I was finishing it! I just wanted to say that I envy the lucky soul who comes across this lovely piece of art during his/her day's wanderings. Beautiful piece and great idea!
