So what is Renaissance Mash Up? Take an image (person or other) from the Renaissance period and "mash up" with something unexpected. I got the idea from Mandy's Magical World. It was my most recent Mail Art theme with Lenna, Jo and an extra one with another peep, Leslie.
I had a lot of fun with hers - as soon as I saw these girls I could not help but think of Mall Rats (I am pretty sure this day and age that is where they would be - if I could have figured it out one would have a cell phone LOL). The background collage is from magazines from the 60's (I was determined to use only what I had) with the exception....
...of this! Well, that's where you would "find" them right! Can't wait to unveil my exchange with Lenna and Jo. Enjoy. Jewels
Love 'em both!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely barking up the wrong tree with mine but they're kinda finished now so I'll pop them in the post anyway.

I obviously need to be better 'splanin next time I go off the wall :)
DeleteHa, I was up the wrong tree also. I didn't understand from your email, Jewels, that I was supposed to combine Renaissance with something unexpected. Gotta read better next time. Does an upside down priest qualify LOL?
ReplyDeleteI AM INCREDIBLY happy with yours and yes and upside down priest qualifies absolutely LOL
DeleteYou have such a unique 'out of the box' way of thinking Jewels, and I love it. Can I borrow it? Haha These are fabulous pieces :o) Mo x
ReplyDeleteThanks Mo - I don't think anyone can figure out how I think LOL but your more than welcome to borrow....
DeleteSuper cool, Julie! I understand I will be seeing you Saturday at Leslie's class! Looking forward to it! Carol
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever, Julie! I love the way you make them look like they are modern-day fashionistas with a rich social media life...lol!
