Continuing my cleaning and redecorating efforts...
Had my carpets cleaned last weekend which entailed emptying out the big rooms.
Including my Sun Room (as much sun as you can get living in a wood lot) at the back of the house. It gets used all year round though I have to use a space heater in the winter...(12 windows not including the 2 sliders - I know 'cause I just cleaned them all)
It actually has lots of potential - including changing the paint colour!!!
But (sadly) the exercise equipment HAS to stay in order for me to maintain my, ahem, svelte figure (ha, ha). Open to any decorating suggestions you may have! Jewels
Oh My Goodness, what a fabulous space, and with a wonderful leafy outlook :) You say it's used all the year round, but what for? xx
ReplyDeleteMainly for me exercising and sitting with my laptop to do work LOL. But I currently have no furniture to go in there now so chance to start over! I was thinking of maybe a round cafe table with a couple of chairs for morning coffee and maybe some "comfy" chairs to curl up an read in or watch tv. OR I could use as a party room or......???
DeleteLooks like a perfect room for a studio-lots of light, out of the way, good wall space to put shelving for materials, great place for a sewing machine and cutting tables, hid the treadmill behind a screen. Oh, you already have a studio, well, then, how about having two. There's my two cents. Hugs. bb
ReplyDeleteohhh - like the idea of a screen for the Treadmill - hmm - something in really bright colours - got me thinking B!
DeleteI have no suggestions other than to make the most of that fabulous view!
ReplyDeleteOoh a Party Room, get you baby!!
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of your suggestions (see, you didn't need our help after all!) - comfy chairs one end for reading (with snuggly blankies for the cooler winter months), and a morning coffee table and chairs the other end. As for the evil treadmill, well that can go as far away as possible!
As for colours, there are so many windows looking onto your greenery that I'd aim to bring the outside in and have some natural colour in the room - warm greens and/or creams (which would go well with the colour of the back wall behind the tv).
It really is a wonderful room, it could be whatever you wanted it to be :)
You will let us know what you decide to do with it, won't you?
xx
Wow! Fab windows! What about a couple mirrors on the TV wall to reflect some light? Patio or wicker furniture might look nice. Definitely keep us posted! And good luck!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic space and with so many possibilities I'd be stumped with what to do. There have been some great suggestions for you plus your own ideas are brill too :) I wish you luck and look forward to seeing what you end up doing. :0) x
ReplyDeleteJewels, I like your idea of a round cafe table for coffee/breakfast and maybe a couple of chairs to watch TV out there. And the screen for the treadmill is a great idea! My mom has one up at her house. Would you consider painting the sun room white or off-white? That could "lighten" the space a bit. I would bring in accents with green plants (real or silk) to tie in with all that greenery outside. What a lovely room!
ReplyDeleteWell there was a suggestion of putting in a pool table and inviting your favourite brother in law over......or, would a fire truck fit? But seriously, I like the idea of bringing the outdoors in, what about a really nice electric fireplace, not a cheapy, the one we have looks real. You could get rid of your space heater then and it would add some character. I know you have tons of books, what about some book shelves to go along with those big comfy chairs? Instead of a screen to hide your treadmill, what about 3/4 (as in not to the ceiling so it doesn't cut out light) tall free standing book shelves, not all the way across from the wall to the windows, just enough to create a nook for your machine and tv. Anyway, I believe you are coming home this weekend? I'll see you then. Love ya sis! xoxo
